Archive for June 2008

since Isa is turning O-N-E next Monday, it was time for her to get her first haircut. we decided to bring her to the salon yesterday…figuring we wouldn’t have time during the week and even on Saturday (we’re holding her “big bash” that night and we got my niece’s baptism in the morning).  so i tried psyching her up starting last Saturday…telling her that her hair is already long, that she needed to have it trimmed and that it wouldn’t hurt, etc., etc., etc…

so when we brought her to the salon it started out quite well. she had her toys and she obediently sat on the chair + allowed the hairstylist’s assistant to prep her for the haircut.

but one snip of the scissors and the tears started to fall…then the tears turned into loud wails and cries for “Mama!!!”…her daddy had to comfort her as she continued to squirm and cry. we had no choice but to continue with the haircut as a huge chunk of her hair was already gone at the back.

thank God for her daddy’s large hands which kept her still and the patience of Benjie (of Going Straight) — this little girl finally had her first haircut.

a haircut = P130 + a bucket of tears + 36 cries for “Mama”

got my Studio Azul June kit last Saturday…and I couldn’t resist the urge to use the stamp that came with the kit. made this super quick page before going to bed last night…

{sorry for the crooked shot of the layout. will try to get a better/straighter shot later}

…thanks for bringing me this 🙂

Thanks, Deb and the other wonderful ladies over at Method Playground for these —

“sheer” bliss. 🙂

this is Isa’s new favorite sleeping position. i don’t understand why she suddenly prefers sleeping this way because she absolutely hated it when she was a teeny-weeny baby! i tried rolling her onto her back but she would immediately roll back to this position. but it’s adorable. and i’ll just let her be from now on. promise.

i swear!!! {right after i squeeze her to bits…and cover her with sloppy kisses…which she hates…}

materials used: Bazzill cardstock, patterned papers (ATB and MM), chipboard (Scenic Route, Simple Joys and Fancy Pants), prima flowers, AC brads, Heidi Swapp bling, alphas (Jenni Bowlin and AC), Jenni Bowlin rub-ons, lace, conchos, AC slick writer, Ranger crackle paint

Maya Road, that is. 🙂

met up with Teena at Romely’s house last night to get these…

and these…

oh. and these…

teeheehee… i know. i know. i really broke the bank when got those mini-albums. but i couldn’t help it!!! they’re just so darn adorable. 🙂 and of course i had to get a couple of those MR rub-ons and a little stamp. soooo cute. and then hubby gave me money to get the AC albums when he noticed that my album was already full.  yep. i now have two 12×12 albums bulging with layouts.  i managed to fill the last one in just one month. yipee. 🙂   and now i have two new empty ones just waiting to be filled with new layouts.   🙂   happiness. pure bliss.  teeheehee…

I’ve repeatedly mentioned about Mark being so supportive of my scrapbooking – buying me scrap stuff, driving me to Manila for scrap-shopping, giving ideas for layouts…he even tells all of his friends about my small “accomplishments”.  To somehow return the favor, I try to support his love for cars…watching F1 races with him, going to car shows and exhibits…so when he joined a group of FD owners (FD is the current model of the Honda Civic) I gave my full support…listening intently while he tells me about his new friends, tagging along when he goes to EBs and “volunteering” to be their unofficial photographer.

this was taken last Saturday.  Mark and other FD owners were asked by Honda Cars Pampanga to bring their FDs for a photoshoot.  tagged along with my own camera and took a couple of shots (like this one) while the “other” professional photographer from Manila was also busy taking shots.

One of his new friends joined us at Starbucks last Sunday…I was bringing a couple of my LOs that day and Mark showed them to him — one of the LOs was the one I made during the Scrapfest using a photo printed using a Canon Selphy printer.  And then he suddenly said, “Uy, I have two Selphy printers at home – I bought one and got the other for free when I bought my O2.  Naka-box pa nga e.”  Goodness gracious!!!! 🙂   After recovering from the delightful shock, I blurted out “Seryoso??? Akin na lang for 3thou!!!”

And you know what he said?   🙂
