bbq.spareribs.Yum-O!!! :)

Posted on: March 13, 2008

(disclaimer: imbento ko lang ito. nag-experiment kasi gusto ni hubby for “pulutan”. at first, I just eyeballed the ingredients – as in no measurements. experiment kasi. hehe… pero I’ve prepared it thrice already with the same results naman.)

ingredients:  pork spareribs (pili ka nung may kaunting fat pa. mas malasa e.), butter, olive oil, garlic, tomato sauce or ketchup (I used Heinz tomato ketchup – favorite ni hubby.), soy sauce,  chopped parsley, salt, pepper, sugar, chili powder or flakes (optional)

the amount of ingredients would depend on how much pork you’re cooking. basta your sauce should be enough to coat your spareribs when mixed. 🙂

if your spareribs are frozen (like mine were), cook them in a pressure cooker – 2 cycles for around 10 minutes each (rule of thumb ko kasi sa pressure cooker – kung pork, twice ko papakuluan. kung beef, thrice – my family likes it na halos humiwalay na sa bone yung meat, para melts-in-your-mouth-sarap-to-the-bone).

for the sauce – melt butter in a saucepan (pick one large enough to hold your meat). add olive oil. saute garlic. add tomato sauce/ketchup, soy sauce, salt, pepper, sugar, and parsley.  you can add other spices to suit your taste – like chili flakes, paprika or cayenne pepper.

you can add small amounts of the broth to adjust the thickness and taste of your sauce.  once satisfied with the taste, add your spareribs. toss the ribs in the sauce until everything is coated.  allow the meat to absorb the sauce then serve.

i’ll try to jot down the measurements next time. teeheehee… pero try it. experiment!!! and happy eating!!!! 🙂

however, if your ribs are fresh (not frozen), coat them with the sauce, place them in a baking dish, cover with foil, and cook them in the oven (preheated to 325 degrees F) until tender.
